Be careful. If you’ve shopped at Hannaford or Sweetbay Supermarkets December through March and used a credit or debit card, check your statements carefully.

I finally got fed up with getting offers from AT&T, whom I’m already a customer of, for free or highly discounted phones if I sign up for a 2 year contract on a qualified plan. I already have a plan and a kick-ass phone–why would I want to sign another contract? Nowhere on the letter, or the voice prompts when you call to take advantage of the offer, do they tell you how to opt-out of these offers. A quick Google search revealed the answer, but I figured I’d post the links here either for my future reference, or to help anyone who may stumble across this page and has the same issues I have.
And because I also got tired of getting the “You’re pre-approved!” letters about credit cards, even though my credit history would make any real person making these offers weep, I found the official Consumer Credit Reporting Companies opt-out page. You can opt-in (foolish), opt-out for 5 years, or opt-out permanently.

Check out Sugar Belly and his bamboo saxophone. Neat instrument, and the music sounds great!

The pumpkins featured over at PumpkinWay.com are pretty awesome. They’re not the photo-realistic carvings that were so popular a year or so ago, but the carving/sculpting work on the teeth and the eyes is pretty rad.
I’m looking forward to pumpkin carving this year, as I do every year, even though they never come out the way I want. It’s still fun to try and to get your hands all slimy from the pumpkin innards.

check out this link and you’ll know why i’m no longer a die-hard Mac fan. David said everything i’ve been thinking. though i might decide to write my own rant to express my disappointment in my own words, but until then, enjoy.

Killer Biscuits Wanted For Attempted Murder (actual AP headline)
Lisa Burnett, 23, a resident of San Diego, was visiting her in-laws, and while there went to a nearby supermarket to pick up some groceries. Several people noticed her sitting in her car with the windows rolled up and with her eyes closed, with both hands behind the back of her head. One customer who had been at the store for a while became concerned and walked over to the car. He noticed that Lisa’s eyes were now open, and she looked very strange. He asked her if she was okay, and Lisa replied that she’d been shot in the back of the head, and had been holding her brains in for over an hour. The man called the paramedics, who broke into the car because the doors were locked and Lisa refused to remove her hands from her head. When they finally got in, they found that Lisa had a wad of bread dough on the back of her head… A Pillsbury biscuit canister had exploded from the heat, making a loud noise that sounded like a gunshot, and the wad of dough hit her in the back of her head. When she reached back to find out what it was, she felt the dough and thought it was her brains. She initially passed out, but quickly recovered and tried to hold her brains in for over an hour until someone noticed and came to her aid. Lisa is blonde.
