well, after sending in an application to LL Bean, i got a reply letter the other day saying that they’re interested in setting up an interview time with me. the letter also says to allow approximately 2 hours for the entire interview process. that kind of makes me panicked so i have yet to call the automated phone number to set up a time for an interview.

if anyone who reads this has any hints, tips or tricks to interviews to help quell my fears, i’d love to hear them. just post them in the comments section. thanks :)

i really need this job, not having money is starting to get a little annoying.

my digital cable was turned off yesterday. when i got note of this, my first reaction was: “oh no, i have no internet access!” but for some reason, they just de-authorized our digital cable converter boxes. we still have basic cable and internet access (thank goodness!).

now my reaction is: “oh no, i can’t watch TechTV!” i’m going through Patrick Norton withdrawal (he’s so hot, especially in his kilt!). and there was a special on last night that i wanted to watch. i hope they rebroadcast that show.

at 7:45 this morning the power went out here. i was asleep, but the change in noise from 2 humming computers and a box-fan seemed to be enough change to wake me up.

it was kind of odd, you never realize how used to the din you are until it’s not there. it was eerily quiet except for the passing cars.

but, as of 10 am power came back on. i didn’t have to face tech-withdrawal for too long ;)

YAY! i finally have my car back, and it has working brakes!

i’m a happy boy. no more imprisonment for me!

so like i said before, i wanted to update my sub pages here to utilize the main stylesheet for the site so i could get practice using stylesheets and learn more html.

if you take a look through my site, you’ll notice that everything had been reformatted and now matches. (well, everything but the friends page because i haven’t made one yet)

so my car was taken to the mechanic’s friday afternoon. it never even got on the lift to be looked at friday.

saturday morning it was finally put on the lift, and they discovered that both my front and rear break likes were rusting through, and they’d need to replace them. unfortunately, the store they need to get the part from wasn’t open by the time they found that out. so no car saturday for me.

sunday every thing auto related is closed, so nothing happened then.

monday (today) they should be repairing my brakes, and my father should be bringing me my car back today. *crosses fingers*

so, after several months of not having a job so i haven’t had to get up early, i had to wake up early today so i could make it to my doctor’s appointment for some fasting blood work. got up at 6 am. i’m already half asleep, and kinda foggy in the head.

on top of getting up early, i can’t even do anything today. i still don’t have my car that was taken to the mechanic’s friday afternoon.

looooooooong day *sigh*

so i just found out that my best friend is getting married!! :D how exciting is that?! i’m so happy for her.

as soon as they set a date, i’m going to try to make it back down to florida for the festivities. who knows, i might even be the bride’s maid… imagine that, a 6′2″, 400 pound gay guy in a tux as a bride’s maid. as long as it’s not peach, or a dress, it should be fine ;)

so, i’m trying to learn more html and learn how to use stylesheets and all. to do this, i’m slowly redesigning my sub-pages on my site using the main stylesheet and coding them by hand using BBEdit instead of using applications like DreamWeaver or GoLive.

the first page to get this treatment is my about page.

so yesterday i had a doctor’s appointment, and afterwards i was supposed to bring my car to the mechanic’s to get the brakes looked at.

on the way to the doctor’s office the brakes kept getting worse. every time i attempted to stop at an intersection or anything, the pedal would sink all the way to the floor every time, and then i’d coast to a stop. that was rather frightening and i ended up putting the car in neutral at most intersections so the brakes weren’t fighting the forward drive of the gear.

so after i made my way back home after my appointment, i called my father to come get the car because i really didn’t feel safe driving, or even riding in that car.

it’s been gone ever since. the mechanic didn’t have a chance to look at my car yesterday, so hopefully there will be time today, and hopefully they’ll be able to fix the leak and i can get my car back today.

i feel like such a prisoner without any mode of transportation and living in an area that’s pretty much a main road in the country. everything is at least 30 minutes away by car. there’s no way i’m walking that distance.

*sigh*
