seems i’m always a little behind on the trends. but i thought i’d give this one a try. here it goes!

well, after having AAA since december, i finally had a use for it today. yesterday, when i attempted to run an errand, i got my car stuck in the mud in my driveway. i didn’t think it was too bad, and left it for today to try and get it out. after trying things like old car mats, and wood boards under the tires, nothing would help. the people who live downstairs tried to help too, and it woulnd’t budge. it seems that over night, the car must have sunk a little more into the mud. the axle of the front end was literally touching the ground, which was making one wheel turn, while the other didn’t.

this is when i decided that since the people down stairs didn’t have a chain to help pull me out, i’d make use of the AAA coverage i paid for. i was going to call them, but then i remembered you could make a request for assistance online. so i did. they estimated about 45 minutes for the truck to arrive, but it was more like 25 i’d say.. not bad, i was happy.

it didn’t even take 15 minutes to winch me out once he got here.

he was cute too.. young guy, probably in his mid-twenties. blond hair cut in a very short crew-cut. probably about 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10.. maybe about 180lbs. solid. he also had both his ear lobes pierced with typical captive-bead rings. overall, hot. it was nice to watch him bend over and kneel to attach the chain to the underside of my car *blush*

guy 1: “Hey Bob! You gellin’?”

guy 2: “Like a felon!”

I cannot believe I actually heard this in public. and it wasn’t even quiet, it was shouted over the span of a couple of aisles.

*disgusted sigh*

this is more for my benefit than for any of the readers of this site. I finally got my rebates for my laptop and my wireless router sent out. now, it’s just a waiting game.

i waited so long to send them in because i was waiting for the 14-day return period to be over, incase anythign else happened to the laptop. which, thankfully, and knocking on wood, didn’t. and i was also a little lazy, so they’re about 21 days after the purchase, rather than 14..

but, now it should be aboue 8 weeks or less until i get the refunds. though they sure would come in handy now.

ah well. tick. tock. tick. tock…

YAY! he was always one of my favorites! :D

so, not much has been up lately, but the reason for the lack of posting is that i’ve been sick since tuesday afternoon. after coming home from my doctor’s appointment, i just got worse, i felt fine while i was there, so i didn’t even mention it to the doctor.. but now it seems to be clearing up, so while i didn’t go to work today ‘cuz it’s considered a “failed call” if you cough, clear your throat, or have a cough drop in your mouth when talking to a customer, and thus can get into big trouble, i should be able to go to work on tuesday.

i just have to say that i hate being sick. but i’m sure everyone who reads this agrees. it’s just not fun.

today i got my laptop backpack that i ordered online. it’s pretty sweet, though it’s not as big as i was thinking it would be. i don’t quite have enough room for everything i want to carry around with me, like my laptop, digital camera, PDA, and all the cords that go along with said gadgets. i’ll have to see if i can rearrange things and get them to fit a little better.

the laptop compartment is a little more snug than i had thought, so tonight i’m turning the laptop off, and storing it in there overnight to see if it’ll stretch out a little, and not require as much effort to extract the laptop from it’s shell. we’ll see.
