potty-mouthed

April 30th, 2004 by T-Fresh

as seen on a Blow Bros. septic care truck:

“We’re #1 in the #2 business!”

it’s also funny to see random port-a-potties around construction sites with the company name – “Blow Bros.” – in big letters on it.

feels like a monday

April 30th, 2004 by T-Fresh

well, this is the day i’m scheduled to work this week. i’ve called the workforce coordinator hotline, and it seems like it’s pretty slow today, so who knows if they’ll send me home. on one hand, i hope they do, but then again, i hope they don’t because i need the money. only time will tell i guess.

in other news, i took my car to Port City Glass yesterday, and got my window replaced. now i just gotta keep a window open a crack for a while so that the pressure from closing the doors doesn’t make the back window pop off and shatter all over the ground.

the new-to-me rear window is also heated. so the $225 was a great deal. most other places wanted up to $1100 for a heated window.

yay for glass

April 28th, 2004 by T-Fresh

well, the guy from Port City Glass called me back, and told me that he had the glass in the Portland store, and that he’s not all that busy lately, so it looks like i’ll have a new window tomorrow afternoon! :)

i’m happy about that.

updates

April 28th, 2004 by T-Fresh

i haven’t posted in a while, so i decided to just make a random post with some updates of things going on in my life.

the car window
i havne’t heard anything back from Port City Glass about my rear window yet. i called them last week and they still havne’t received the part from the salvage place they were ordering it from. and i just called today, and the Westbrook store is closed and the Portland store has their phones for a while. and there’s no record of it anywhere. so the guy who answered the phone took my name and phone number and car info and will fax the guy at the Westbrook store and have him call me this afternoon.

other
i ordered one of these for myself today. to replace the one i got as a graduation gift from my boss in florida that i lost on my trek from florida back to maine over the summer. it’s the same size, but a different brand. and it’s much cheaper. it’s almost as if i couldn’t afford not to get this one. it’ll be nice to back up things like my quicken files and such. i can’t wait!

that’s about it for now. i don’t work again until friday.

is there a 5:30am?

April 25th, 2004 by T-Fresh

so, not only did i have to wake up at the ungodly hour of 5:30am, but it was on a sunday. i was supposesd to work 7:00 to 3:30 today, but when i got to work this morning, even before i could punch in to start my day, they had a sign posted by the time clock that said if your name was listed, do not punch in and see the Workforce Coordinator before starting your day. so, my name was listed, so i did just that. went over to the WFC and was promptly told, after looking up my employee ID number that i was not needed today.

they had me wake up before the ass-crack of the day, and shower, and wake up, and drive to work for what? nothing! that’s right. they don’t even have the decency to call *me* and tell me i don’t have to come in today.

bastards.

glass update

April 19th, 2004 by T-Fresh

so, today i called Port City Glass, the place that one of the workers left his business card on my car on saturday. they researched a little for the window that i need, and they could only get it from canada, and to install it would be $950. that would not do, so i started telling them what happened with the card, and about the used windows he was sure he had. turns out i was talking to the guy who left the card on my car. he also told me that he was wrong, and it was a window for a Sable that he had. but he offered to call a local junk yard (Cumberland Salvage) to see if they had any they could pull. turns out they did, and it would cost me, installed, $225. that’s a hella deal!

now i’m waiting for him to call me back with a time that he would have the part, so i can make an appointment to go have it installed…

glass

April 19th, 2004 by T-Fresh

so, saturday when i went to go my laundry at a laundromat, i got out to my car with my laundry like the last time when i found my rear window smashed in, and this time i found something else in my car. apparently someone who works at Port City Glass was on his way to work, and saw my busted window and he took the time to pull out of traffic, write a note on the back of one of his business cards, and stuck it in the driver’s side window. it simply said:

I saw your broken window on the way to work. I’m sure I have some used ones. New ones are oblelete(sic).

so, monday i will try calling the number on the front of the card, and see if they do have used rear windows, and what the price is. hopefully it’ll be less than the $535 Portland Glass quoted me, and much much less than the $999-$1100 everyone else wants.

rebates

April 18th, 2004 by T-Fresh

again, using this blog as a simple dayplanner type of app, this entry is mostly for my own good, but feel free to bore yourself to tears by reading anyway.

yesterday, april 17th, i got my Circuit City rebate back for my laptop. this is good, as it will get me towards the goal of $535.00 for getting a new rear window in my car.

April 16th, 2004 by T-Fresh

I want everyone who reads this to ask me 3 questions — no more, no less.

Ask me anything you want.

Then I want you to go to your journal/blog, copy and paste this, allowing your friends (including me) to ask you anything.

Ask away!

:)
