*Your Dominant Intelligence is Spatial Intelligence*
_You’ve got a good sense of space and how the world around you looks. You can close your eyes and “see” images. You have innate artistic talent. An eye for color and shapes, you’re also a natural designer. Since you think in pictures, visual aids and demonstartions help you learn best._
_You would make a good navigator, sculptor, visual artist, inventor, architect, interior designer, or engineer._

Well, today was the day — I got my contact lenses.
All went pretty well at the doctor’s office. They took me in to have me try two different kinds of lenses; one was daily disposables, and the other was a 2-week disposable. While the daily disposable felt better, it would only correct about half of my astigmatism, so vision won out over convenience.
The contact lens technician was surprised that I’ve never had contacts before. She said I was “an old pro” at putting them in and taking them out. She only wishes other people were so good at it, it would make her job easier. She also said that if everyone was that quick to learn, everyone would be wearing them. I guess the extensive researching I did and watching a friend put his contacts in and take them out many times helped. I _am_ a visual learner after all.
Today they only wanted me to wear the lenses for four hours. Tomorrow I get to up it to five hours, and add an hour each day until I’m up to eight hours a day. Then I go back to see the doctor to see how they’re doing and see if I’ve adjusted to them.
All in all, I like them. I’m looking forward to wearing them again tomorrow.

I just sat down with my favorite fountain pen in my pocket, and I heard a snap. It snapped in half. The threads that hold the nib section on the barrel snapped off. This was my favorite fountain pen — it had a nib that was fine, instead of the brush-like medium that all the rest of the pens I have have. It was also a nice, smooth writer.
I you’re the religious type, please say a prayer for ol’ blue. The “Pelikan”:http://pelikan.de/en/docs/sch.php?cid=1&fid=2 has flown the nest. *trumpets play somberly*

_From the “Friday Forum”:http://groups.yahoo.com/groups/FridayForum Yahoo! Group._
1) When you write an e-mail, do you usually use correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc.? Or do you prefer to type a “stream of consciousness” message and not worry so much about the technical stuff? Do you spellcheck your e-mails?
_I try to use correct grammar, but somtimes the ways of the ‘net take over and I just end up typing whatever and not worrying if I put a comma in the right place, or if I capitalized all of my I’s and beginning of sentences._
2) Do you typically use emoticons/smileys and words like “LOL” or “TTYL” in your e-mail messages? What fonts/colors do you normally use, or do you use e-mail stationery? Do you use an e-mail signature?
_I will use emoticons at times, if I’m trying to make sure someone’s not taking a statement the wrong way. But that doesn’t always work. I’ll also use words like “LOL” at times — my favorite is BRB(be right back). I don’t use any email stationary, I think they’re evil. But if I send an HTML(hypertext markup language) email to someone, I’m pretty sure my font shows up as Verdana 10pt. maroon. And as for signatures, I use one on my GMail account, but it’s mainly to explain what the email address means._
3) How many e-mail accounts do you have, and how often do you check them? About how many messages do you receive per day, and are you good about keeping up with e-mail correspondence? Would you call yourself an “e-mail junkie”?
_Right now I’d say I have around 7+ email accounts. And that doesn’t include the many aliases I have that lead to my main account. I have my “email client”:http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird set to check 5 of my email accounts every minute for new messages. And the other addresses are checked maybe 8 times a day. I think the ammount I check my email classifies me as an email junkie. I’m fairly good about keeping up with email correspondence, but sometimes I have a tendency to put off answering an email until it’s too late, and then it just gets filed._
4) Do you subscribe to any e-mail lists, groups, message boards, forums, etc.? Why did you decide to join them? Have you made lots of close friends through these groups? Do you post regularly?
_I subscribe to a few email lists. Most of them are smutty ones, and that’s why I chose to join those — It’s nice to get some smut in your inbox once in a while. I haven’t made friends on those groups — I mainly use them for the photo factor. Another email group I’m a member of is a calligraphy/scribe group, and I like getting the little tips and tricks from that group. I haven’t posted much, so I haven’t really had a chance to make many friends from that group either._
5) Who is the most recent person you’ve e-mailed? What was the topic of your message? What is the most recent e-mail that you’ve received? What e-mail program do you use?
_The last person that I’ve emailed would be “David”:http://www.davethebad.com about a funky website to see if he has problems with it too. The most recent email that I’ve received would be a tip from the calligraphy group about travel slant-boards. The email program that I use, as I’ve already stated is “Mozilla Thunderbird”:http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird. I highly recommend it as an alternative to Outlook Express. It’s wonderfully useful, and just like the browser “Mozilla FireFox”:http://www.getfirefox.com, it’s expandable with extensions that are produced by the community. And it has great spam-catching features._

While I wasn’t expecting anything, “a friend”:http://www.davethebad.com decided to get me something for my birthday, but he had to wait until payday. He sent it out yesterday and I got it today. It’s a “Moleskine”:http://www.moleskineus.com/ notebook. It’s pretty sweet. I took some photos of my own and you can see them in a mini gallery “here.”:http://blog.tduguay.com/images/galleries/moleskine/index.html
These notebooks seem to have a cult following. They’re nice and all, but I don’t know why “everyone’s”:http://www.moleskinerie.com so fanatical about it. I think it’s the supposed history of the notebook. Being used by Hemingway, Picasso and Chatwin. What they don’t promote so boldly is the fact that those notebooks were made by a company that burned down in the ’80s and that these new Moleskine notebooks started production in ‘96 and were designed from the description of the notebook from one of Chatwin’s books. So who knows if this is the actual design of the original notebook.
But, at any rate, it’s still cool. It’s got a nice feel to it — a nice heft. And it feels really sturdy. If I can get over the preciousness of it and feel ready to “ruin” it by writing in it, I’m sure it’ll be a joy!
Thank you David!
