I swear my car is going to fall apart one of these days.
Sometime around Monday of this past week the turn signal on the rear driver’s-side of my car burned out and the front blinker looked like it was on speed. Then a couple days later the other rear turn signal burned out. Or so I thought. Today I went to replace the turn signals with the two bulbs I bought at Wal*Mart last night and found out that not only did the turn signals burn out, but the brake lights right next to them burned out as well. So for the past week I’ve been driving around with only back-up lights, and the window-mounted brake light working. I was not happy.
This all required a second trip to Wal*Mart today so I could get a second pack of bulbs for the other side of the car.
4 bulbs burned out within the span of 3 days.
I think my car’s going to blow up.

I went to “LL Bean”:http://www.llbean.com tonight and the legend lives on — their sales people are ever so chipper and over-happy to help you in any way they can. I had a couple of questions to ask here and there, and they were polite, eager, and willing to go look things up if they didn’t know the answer rather than doing a BestBuy and saying they didn’t know or make up an answer.
I also saw these über-cool “two-piece chopsticks”:http://www.llbean.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?storeId=1&catalogId=1&langId=-1&categoryId=41443&sc1=Search&feat=sr for camping or just being cool at home eating sushi. I didn’t get them though—I really couldn’t justify the price.

Dash You scored 30% Sociability and 52% Sophistication! |
|
There’s no denying you have a certain flair. You don’t mind being around others, especially your little brother, the hyphen, but you rarely emerge except when needed. You respond well to those who know how to treat you, but have only contempt for those who don’t — you tend to embarass them every chance you get. Your only enemy is the colon — he will sometimes try to move in on your turf. |
|
My test tracked 2 variables How you compared to other people your age and gender:
|
|
You scored higher than 11% on Sociability |
|
|
You scored higher than 39% on Sophistication |
|
Now I have to ask, which dash? The em- or en-dash?

I’m in a mood as of late in which all I crave are foods made with the delicious taste of pumpkin and the spices which usually accompany it. It all started with a pumpkin whoopie pie I had at an apple orchard a few weeks back, and it’s been insatiable ever since. I’ve made the whoopie pies at home myself, and even attempted pumpkin fudge and bread. I’ve been on the look-out for pumpkin-scented candles to fill my room with the delectable scent.
During my search for any and everything pumpkin-flavored, I found out that “Starbucks”:http://www.starbucks.com has a “Pumpkin Spice Latte”:http://www.starbucks.com/retail/fallphase2.asp. While out doing errands and such with some friends, we found ourselves by a Starbucks, so we had to get one to try. We each got a “Grande Pumpkin Spice Latte.” All I can say is that it has to be one of the best holiday flavors out there. It’s such a warm taste with the sweet pumpkin, nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon and ginger. And you get a nice toasted flavor with the espresso. Here’s Starbucks’ description of the ambrosial beverage:
bq. Pumpkin Spice Latte is a delicious blend of pumpkin and traditional holiday spice flavors, combined with our signature espresso and freshly steamed milk, then topped with whipped cream and pumpkin pie spices.
I would highly recommend having one if you’re at all in a holiday/autumnal mood or just like pumpkin and spice.

Sometimes I really wish my camera-phone started up in a fraction of a second and has an ultra-fast shutter.
Today while driving home, I passed “Back Cove(Back Cove Trails)”:http://www.trails.org/map_files/back_cove_page_description.html (“map”:http://maps.google.com/maps?q=portland,+maine&ll=43.667158,-70.270185&spn=0.013654,0.041096&t=k) and there was a yuppie riding a “Segway”:http://www.segway.com/ scooter, and his friend was riding in a “recumbent bicycle”:http://www.recumbent.com/recumbents.html. The guy riding the $5,000 Segway also looked like he couldn’t even afford a new pair of underwear, never mind a Segway—he looked so scummy and like he just woke up and crawled out of the dumpster in the back alley.
And I would have had a photo of all this if my phone was faster so I could take photos _while_ I’m driving.
Blast!

1] Which snack foods do you enjoy the most? Do you prefer salty or sweet snacks [or both]?
bq. Definitely salty. Popcorn, chips, nuts. I also love the mix of sweet and salty things. It’s just a great dichotomy.
2] Do you tend to snack most often during a particular time of day, such as mid-morning or late at night?
bq. I snack most often right after work. I think it’s a sort of release from my hectic day. That and I usually have a very small, quick lunch, and an even smaller breakfast so I’m pretty hungry by then.
3] Have you been craving any snacks in particular lately? Like what?
bq. Lately it’s been pretty much anything with pumpking. It all started with picking apples with a friend and having a pumpkin whoopie pie at the orchard. It’s been all down hill since then.
4] Would you rather snack on chocolate or candy? [In other words, are you a chocolate or a candy person?]
bq. Candy doesn’t really do much for me. Just a cube of sugar doesn’t really sound very appealing. So I would have to say chocolate — though I prefer the less-sweet dark chocolates. They have a great nutty/fruity flavor.
5] Do you crave any snacks that others might think are strange? Like what? Did you invent this snack yourself, and how did it come about?
bq. I don’t think I crave anything that others might think is strange. I’m usually not too adventuresome when it comes to snacks. If I think of anything, I’ll be sure to update though!

People are going to have to get their fix some other way. This is pretty big considering how many people own Blackberry devices. It’ll be interesting to see what happens.
