Here’s a cute photo of Bean. It’s really terrible and confusing how he can be so cute, yet so naughty. Such is the paradox of kitten-ness i suppose.

The pumpkins featured over at PumpkinWay.com are pretty awesome. They’re not the photo-realistic carvings that were so popular a year or so ago, but the carving/sculpting work on the teeth and the eyes is pretty rad.

I’m looking forward to pumpkin carving this year, as I do every year, even though they never come out the way I want. It’s still fun to try and to get your hands all slimy from the pumpkin innards.

Two weeks ago I got into an accident. It was my fault, and I don’t deny that. I pulled out around a corner and checked my rear view to see if anyone was zooming up on me, and I dind’t realize the 3 cars infront of me were stopped and by the time I realized it, it was too late to stop in time. I swerved to the left and caught the corner of the car infront of me. I dind’t push her into the cars in front of her, which was a good thing.

I was totally shaken by the whole thing. Obviously.

After having my car towed to an auto body shop, I got an estimate for my 1994 Ford Taurus that my father paid $3,000 for as a graduation gift: $5,402 in dammage. Even if the car was in great condition, that still exceeds the value of the car.

I was wicked bummed.

I took this as the universe’s way of telling me to get my act together and look into getting that new car that I wanted. So, I set out to do that.

I applied for loans at the credit union at my work, but they denied me. I went to the car dealership and was denied. Then I got my father to co-sign on the loan at the car dealership and I was denied again. My credit is so crappy that if my name was any where near the financing application, it would be denied. The only way that I could get a car is if my father was the sole person on the finance paperwork.

Finally, Monday (September 11) we did that. My father is the sole person on the finance application, but I’m the one who will make all the payments. So, I have a new car!

It’s a wonderful 2007 Toyota Corolla LE. Some of the specs are:

• 6-disc in-dash CD changer with 6 speakers
• cruise control
• ABS Brakes
• Air bags galore
• tire pressure monitors
• air conditioning
• power windows, locks and remote entry
• 4 cylinder automatic, so it’s considered “gas sipping”

There’s a lot more to it, but I’ll refrain from listing the whole Maroney sticker here. And I’ll probably post about it again shortly just to give details about how the deal went down. It’s just been so long since I’ve posted that I figured I’d use my new blogging software to let all my friends know what’s been happening. :-)

I’ve decided to try and use the domains and webhosting that I’m paying for each month, so I used the spiffy One Click Installs feature of Dreamhost to install WordPress at celfyddwr.com. I also found a plugin that will cross-post any entries I make to my LiveJournal blog. Pretty neat! let’s see if this will inspire me to post more.
